Instructional Media Examples
Technology has greatly influenced the way we teach and support education. The choice of media is exclusive to the educational environment and the instructional outcomes.
Here are a selected few examples of how I have integrated different media into education.
Establishing an Academy for Online Course Development
In 2010 I was recruited to Clayton State University to develop the Academy for Online Course Development. I have included some materials that are not “proprietary” content, to share my thoughts on the challenging task of preparing a University and faculty to offer and teach fully online, and partially online (hybrid) courses.
Building an ePortfolio Assessment System
In 2005, I was asked to develop an ePortfolio assessment system for Northern Kentucky University. The resulting system was authored using a variety of software; primarily FileMaker Pro.
LMS Administration
Throughout my career, I have worked with many Learning Management Systems. The first ones were TopHat and WebCT (c.1996). At that time, the concept of the LMS was in it’s infancy. While completing my doctoral program at UNLV, I developed my own LMS using my skills with web development and database (FileMaker) design.
