Examples of Student Created Technology ResourcesThroughout the years, students have been challenged to think differently about the way they will approach instruction. After completing required coursework, students are expected to be able to use a variety of information technologies and computer-based technologies to create or manage technology resources. Samples of instructor selected student work are presented. These samples change often and reflect the variety of skill and expertise of our next generation of teachers: teachers who possess the skill to integrate technology in meaningful and effective ways into the curriculum. TrackStar: Marine Mammals: Learning about Whales This track is designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about whales. Students will learn about different species of whales, reproduction, and various other facts. Students will even have an opportunity to watch two live births. Intro to American Writers This track was created for an American Writers class consisting of advanced juniors and seniors in high school. Students are given web sites about six American writers, and they must read through them and then answer the questions in the annotation. The Underground Railroad This track is designed to help explain how important the Underground Railroad was to many slaves. This track is mainly designed for grade levels six through eight. The information would be useful for older grades, but the questions may be a little under level for older students. Rescue Your Respiratory System This track covers the basics of the respiratory system. There are diagrams and brief explanations of the processes that take part. This is key to the effectiveness of the second part which is about smoking and the effects on this system. Coin Identification This unit was developed to address the learning gap of coin identification and coin values for my Extended Resource K-2 class. It implements a rap, poem, board game and a worksheet to teach children about numbers. Educational Media Development (Graduate) 2004 Flash: (Flash plugin required) |
